1/6 SCALE, RESIN / LIGHTING BY WWW.MODELTRAINSOFTWARE.COM
My grail kit! I honestly thought I'd never get one of these - they were produced just before I started getting into garage kits (1997).
Then John Tucky sold me his in 2016; it was in perfect condition.
Needless to say, I was in modeling heaven for about a week.
And the lighting kit from Model Train Software was perfect and easy to use.
I drilled huge holes in the back of the columns and then cut out a rectangle with a razor saw (I winced when I cut into this rather rare and valuable model). I then drilled 1/4" holes through the front of the column and into the lanterns, which I was holding into place with elastic bands. The leds, the wires, and even the mini switch are attached to the model with this great wax stuff they sell. You soften it by kneading it with your fingers and then stick it on. It hardens just enough to adhere to the surface. There's a nine-volt battery that I dropped inside the column. When it dies (80 hours of use), I can just pull it out and replace it.
This is the mini switch. The battery is sitting inside the column. You can see the little white globs of wax holding the wires on.
An outdoor shot so you can see the color scheme better.

Nice kit, beautiful sculpt. The candle casting was a mess, though.
But that's what garage kits are like - you have to put in the labor!

" You see, I have taken a fancy to you as well...."
