From 1997, a precursor to Random Access Memory. Recorded on a Roland VS880 hard drive recorder, it was our introduction to digital multitrack recorders.
Unfortunately, the machine and the files are gone forever. And the samplers, drum machines and synthesizers were synced to the machine
and fed into the 2-track master DAT recorder, so the multitracks never even existed for this album. Too bad - some of these tracks would've sounded GREAT in surround!
It was also our first CD. CD duplication was still in its infancy, so it was a rather expensive option. We pressed up 300 silver CDs with no jewel boxes, labels, or graphics.
Then we had a rubber stamp made for the CD label and stamped each CD individually. We also ran off the covers on an inkjet printer (also a new technology at the time)
and found out how expensive that could be, especially with such a dark cover.
Those CDs are long gone, but you can still download the music and graphics in much, much better quality than the original release.
As a bonus, we've included 4 extra rehearsal tracks from the previous year recorded direct to DAT tape. Not too shabby, eh?
We hope you enjoy listening to this album as much as we enjoyed learning how to make it.
